Ravens Road is an inner terrace unit with an unusual style, it sits at the end of a row of almost 6 identical terraced houses, with a former Co-Operative building to the right. Over the years this site has had many commercial uses including a Car Maintenance Garage, Laundrette, and as Flats. This had led to the degradation of the frontage character.
When our client purchased the building in 2021, B3architectural prepared planning and technical drawings for the conversion of the roof space with two new staircases from ground to the first and new second floors meeting all fire regulations for the additional storeys. Upgraded insulation levels will also be provided to walls and the roof.
Roof-windows and new proportioned windows were also inserted on the principal elevation. The result was a swift planning approval in only 6 weeks and an enhanced street scene aesthetic.
